Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do travel agents charge a fee? Great question, and the answer is usually no! We're paid commission directly by the resorts, cruise lines, and tour operators we book with, so our expertise typically costs you nothing extra. For highly custom or complex itineraries (think multi-stop trips or large group events), a small planning fee may apply, and we'll always disclose it upfront. No surprises, ever.
2. Why book with a travel agent instead of doing it myself online? Because Google can't call the resort at 11 PM when your room isn't ready. We have insider relationships, access to exclusive perks (think room upgrades, resort credits, and VIP amenities), and we know which resorts deliver and which ones disappoint. You also save hours of research and avoid the "this looked better online" trap.
3. What happens if something goes wrong during my trip? You call us. Flight delayed? Resort overbooked? Weather throwing a curveball? We're your real-life advocate before, during, and after your trip. Not a chatbot, not a hold line. That peace of mind is priceless, especially when you're traveling with kids or on a milestone trip.
4. Do you offer payment plans? Yes! Most of our packages come with low deposits and flexible monthly payment schedules. We also offer installment loan options with no prepayment penalties, and you can travel before your trip is fully paid off. We'll match you with the option that fits your budget and timeline.
5. Can you help with group travel, honeymoons, or special celebrations? Absolutely, it's one of our favorite things to plan! From destination weddings and honeymoons to milestone birthdays, anniversaries, girls' trips, and family reunions, we handle all the logistics so you can focus on the moments that matter.
6. Do I need a passport, and what about travel documents? Yes, a valid passport is required for all international travel, and it should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. Some destinations also require visas, tourist cards, or specific entry forms. Don't worry, we'll walk you through exactly what you need for your specific destination.
7. Should I get travel insurance? Short answer: yes, and here's something most travelers don't realize. The majority of U.S. medical insurance policies do NOT cover medical expenses incurred outside of the United States. That means a simple ER visit, prescription, or god forbid a medical evacuation while abroad could cost you thousands of dollars out of pocket. Travel insurance bridges that gap and protects you from unexpected high-end medical fees while traveling internationally. It also covers trip cancellation, weather disruptions, lost luggage, and more. When reviewing your quote, please make sure international medical coverage is included so you're never caught off guard. We'll help you choose a plan that fits your trip and gives you real peace of mind.
8. How far in advance should I book? For the best pricing, resort availability, and room category selection, we recommend booking 6 to 12 months out, especially for peak seasons (winter holidays, spring break, and summer). This is even more important for high-demand brands like Sandals Resorts, which have a loyal repeat-client base that rebooks year after year. Sandals properties frequently sell out well in advance, and waiting too long can mean losing your dream resort, room category, or travel dates entirely. That said, we love a good last-minute deal too, so don't count yourself out if you're feeling spontaneous!
9. What's included in an "all-inclusive" resort, and what's the difference between all-inclusive and European Plan? This is a big one, and it's a hidden expense trap that catches travelers off guard all the time when booking online. An all-inclusive resort includes your room, all meals, snacks, drinks (including alcohol), non-motorized water sports, entertainment, and gratuities. Some resorts include extras like spa credits, excursions, or kids' clubs. A European Plan (often labeled "EP" on booking sites) means your room only. No meals, no drinks, no snacks, nothing else included. If you book a European Plan thinking it's all-inclusive, you can end up spending hundreds, even thousands, of dollars extra on food and drinks during your stay. When we book your trip, we make sure you know exactly what's included at your specific resort so there are no surprises.
10. How do we get started? Easy! Just click the LEARN MORE button on our website and fill out our travel inquiry form. We'll chat about your vibe, budget, and travel goals, then get to work building your perfect getaway. The hardest part? Deciding which beach chair is yours.
11. Is it safe to travel to Mexico and the Caribbean? Yes, when you go to the right places. The all-inclusive resort areas we book (think Riviera Maya, Cancun, Punta Cana, Montego Bay, Nassau) are tourism-focused destinations with strong security, on-site staff, and millions of happy visitors every year. We only work with reputable resorts in safe zones, and we'll always give you the real scoop on your destination, including travel advisories, airport transfer recommendations, and tips for staying smart while you're there.
12. Are these trips kid-friendly? What about traveling with babies or teens? 100% yes! Many of the resorts we book are designed with families in mind. Think kids' clubs, splash parks, teen lounges, babysitting services, cribs in the room, and kid-approved menus. Traveling with a baby? We'll match you with resorts that offer baby gear, stroller-friendly layouts, and even formula and diaper services. Got picky teens? We know which resorts have the wave pools, water parks, and hangout vibes that'll keep them off their phones (well, mostly).
13. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or food allergies? Absolutely. Whether it's gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, kosher, halal, nut allergies, or anything in between, we'll match you with resorts that take dietary needs seriously. Many properties have dedicated chefs and menus for allergy-sensitive guests. We'll communicate your needs to the resort in advance so you can eat worry-free.
14. What if I've been burned by a bad travel experience before? First, I'm sorry that happened. Second, you're exactly who I built this business for. I've been there myself. Long before I owned my agency, my family and I experienced major travel disruptions that put a serious damper on what should have been relaxing, memorable trips. I know firsthand how stressful and disappointing it is when a vacation goes sideways, and that experience is a huge part of why I do this work today. A bad trip usually comes down to one thing: poor planning or the wrong resort match. I take the time to learn your travel style, deal-breakers, and dream scenarios before recommending a single property. Every resort I book is one I'd send my own family to. And if a hurdle does come up during your trip, my full concierge support team is on standby to resolve it immediately so your vacation stays on track. You won't be a number here, you'll be a person I'm rooting for.
15. What if I don't know where I want to go? Perfect, that's literally my favorite kind of client! On our discovery call, I'll ask about your vibe (chill vs. adventurous), your travel crew, your investment, and what you're craving most (rest, romance, fun, all of the above). From there, I'll narrow down the best destinations and resorts for you. No pressure, no overwhelm, just options curated for your real life.
16. Do you book flights too? Yes, when they're part of a vacation package! We bundle flights with your resort booking to keep everything coordinated and stress-free, from takeoff to airport transfer. Just a heads up: we don't book flights on their own (no standalone airfare), so flights are always paired with your getaway. If you'd rather use airline points or book your own flights, no problem, we'll align your resort dates and transfers to match your travel plans seamlessly.
17. What about airport transfers once we land? We include private transportation with all of our vacation packages, so you'll go straight from baggage claim to a cold drink at your resort. No rental cars, no language barriers, no stress. Why private? Because shared transportation means stopping at every other resort along the route with the other passengers in your van, which can stretch your transfer time significantly and eat into your vacation. We never put our clients in that position. We'll confirm all the details before you go and make sure you know exactly who to look for at the airport.
18. Do you plan honeymoons? Oh, this is one of my absolute favorites! Whether you're dreaming of an adults-only beachfront suite in Riviera Maya, a swim-up suite in Jamaica, or a romantic over-the-water bungalow vibe in the Caribbean, I'll craft a honeymoon that feels like you two, not a cookie-cutter package. I'll also help you score honeymoon perks like room upgrades, champagne on arrival, romantic dinners, spa credits, and late checkout. Already married but never got that dream honeymoon? Let's plan a "delayed honeymoon" or anniversary trip. It's never too late.
19. Can you plan a destination wedding? Yes! Destination weddings are one of my favorite things to plan, and it's deeply personal for me. I was a destination bride myself, married in Mexico seven years ago, so I know exactly what it feels like to walk down that beachfront aisle and what goes into making the day unforgettable for both you and your guests. I'll guide you through resort selection, wedding package options, guest accommodations, group rates, and all the logistics that come with hosting your nearest and dearest abroad. From intimate elopements for two to full celebrations with 50+ guests, I handle the details so you can focus on the moment.
20. How does planning a destination wedding actually work? Here's the simple version: we start with a discovery call to talk through your vision, guest count, budget, and dream destination. From there, I'll present resort and wedding package options, coordinate the group booking, manage your guests' reservations and payments, and serve as the point person between you and the resort's on-site wedding coordinator. You'll get a private group booking link to share, regular check-ins, and zero stress about who's paid and who hasn't. Most destination weddings are best booked 9 to 18 months in advance to lock in your date, resort, and group pricing.
21. Will my wedding guests get a special rate? Yes! When you book a destination wedding through me, your guests will receive discounted group rates, flexible payment plans, and the same VIP perks I extend to all my clients. Plus, the more guests who book, the more potential perks for you. Think free nights, room upgrades, or a complimentary cocktail hour. I'll explain exactly what's available based on your resort and guest count.
22. What if some guests can't afford the trip or can't make it? Totally normal, and we plan for it. To make your wedding more accessible to a wider range of budgets, we can build out both 5-day and 7-day package options so guests can choose the length of stay that fits their wallet and schedule. I'll also help you set realistic expectations, offer a range of room categories so guests can pick what works for them, and provide flexible payment plans to ease the financial lift. For loved ones who can't make it at all, we can plan a smaller "welcome home" celebration or vow renewal trip down the road. Your wedding, your way.
23. Do you help with honeymoon registries or wedding gift contributions? Yes! Many of our resort partners offer honeymoon registry options where guests can contribute toward your trip, spa treatments, romantic dinners, or excursions instead of traditional gifts. I'll walk you through how to set one up so your loved ones can be part of your celebration in a meaningful way.
24. Why should I work with you? I've been booking online for myself for years. What value do you bring me? Totally fair question, and I love when clients ask it! Here's the honest truth: booking online works fine until it doesn't. The moment your flight gets canceled, your room isn't what was promised, the resort is overbooked, or a hurricane rolls in three days before your trip, you're on your own. You're the one stuck on hold for hours with a 1-800 number, fighting for a refund or a rebooking, while your vacation slips away. I have been there on the client side before, managing that stress in todays automated world makes it nearly impossible to speak with someone via phone.
When you book with me, you get a real person in your corner. Here's what that actually looks like:
Insider knowledge. I know which resorts deliver and which ones disappoint, which rooms to request, which to avoid, and what's actually worth the splurge. You won't waste money on a property that looks great online but under delivers in person.
Exclusive perks. Through my agency partnerships, I have access to upgrades, resort credits, free nights, spa discounts, romantic dinners, and VIP amenities that aren't available when you book direct or on a third-party site.
Time saved. The average client spends 10+ hours researching a vacation. I do the research, comparisons, and vetting for you, then present you with curated options that fit your vibe and budget.
Price protection and value. I monitor your booking for price drops and promotions after you book, and if a better deal comes along that you qualify for, I'll work to get it applied.
A real human when things go wrong. Flight canceled? Resort issue? Weather emergency? You text me, not a chatbot. My concierge team and I handle it so you can keep enjoying your vacation.
Personalized planning. I get to know YOU, your travel style, your deal-breakers, your must-haves, your kids' ages, your partner's quirks, and I build a trip around all of it. That's something no algorithm or booking site can do, they are transactional and we are relationship driven.
No extra cost (in most cases). I'm paid by the resorts and suppliers, so you get all of this expertise and support at no additional charge to you. Same trip, same price, way better experience.
You've worked too hard for your PTO and your money to gamble on a vacation. Let me take the guesswork out of it and turn your next trip into the one you'll be talking about for years.
